Anne 12th January 2020

From Naomi King-Smith: Thank you for letting us know so quickly and for taking such good care of Uncle Lewis over these many years. Our love and hugs to Eve and we wish we could be there with you and her. We know you did everything you could to ensure he received the best of care and love from you. Having you all either nearby or visiting as much as you did, in Australia, especially recently, was so wonderful to hear about. I have so many treasured memories of Uncle Lewis from earlier years, especially of the dental practice, and the toy drawer he had for us after our teeth were cleaned. It made such a difference when you’re young and going to the dentist is a somewhat uncomfortable experience. I also remember holidays at Point Lonsdale when he and Eve came down to stay with us. Coming to visit us here in the US also carried great excitement , especially for my mother, and they truly made her and us feel connected and special especially after she was single again. She wrote hundreds of letters to him and Eve and Kate through the years and always made sure that even though her brother was so far away, in Minneapolis she felt close to them. I still feel that way today and so does Todd and our children. Todd’s parents also send their condolences and we are thinking of all of you with great love. Please stay in touch with us in the days and weeks ahead as you mourn.
